Prospective lab members

We may take on new Ph.D. students each year. Prospective Ph.D. students should apply to the Biological Systems Engineering graduate program through UC Davis Graduate Studies. The department encourages applicants to contact faculty about lab openings while preparing an application; see Preparing to Apply for deadlines and process. For graduate-program questions, email baeadvising@ucdavis.edu.

If you are a UC Davis undergraduate or master’s student interested in research in the lab, email svougioukas@ucdavis.edu with a short note on your interests, relevant coursework or experience, and a CV or résumé. Undergraduate advising for Biological and Agricultural Engineering is available through BAE Advising.

If you are interested in a postdoctoral position, email svougioukas@ucdavis.edu with your CV and a brief research statement. Openings depend on funding and current projects.

If you are not a UC Davis student and are interested in a visiting researcher position, email svougioukas@ucdavis.edu with your CV, proposed dates, and research plan. International visitors should also review UC Davis Services for International Students and Scholars (SISS) requirements.
